P2.5 Data reduction of jittered infra-red images using the ORAC pipeline.

Malcolm J. Currie, Gillian Wright (UKATC), Frossie Economou (JAC), Alan Bridger (UKATC)

The Observatory Reduction and Acquisition Control (ORAC) project is designed to improve productivity at UKIRT (the United Kingdom Infra-Red Telescope). We relate our experiences using the ORAC data-reduction pipeline for jittered images of stars and galaxies. The reduction recipes currently combine applications from several Starlink packages with intelligent perl recipes to cater for UKIRT data. We describe some of the algorithms used, and compare the quality of the resultant mosaics and photometry with the existing facilities.
